STRENGTHENING AND STABILIZATION OF THE BANKS OF WATER RESERVOIRS

GeoResin geopolymer resins are a material that does not come into contact with water and is able to maintain a stable state in a humid environment. This makes it possible to use geopolymers to strengthen the shoreline of reservoirs and strengthen the soil of the coastal zone.

Not only the shores of large lakes, seas and rivers can be subject to water erosion – gradual destruction due to the continuous influence of liquid. Improperly arranged storage ponds, wastewater receivers, small lakes with underground springs, weakly reinforced dams, etc. pose no less danger to the coastal soil, and therefore to neighboring buildings.

In order to prevent the occurrence of emergency situations that threaten the breach of fortifications or the collapse of the soil of the coastline, the coastal soil should be strengthened and the shore of the reservoir should be strengthened.

Traditional complications

When the threat of erosion of the coastal zone is not a priority, restoration of the shore and strengthening of the damaged soil can be carried out according to the residual principle.

For example, due to the impossibility of carrying out a complete reconstruction of fortifications, temporary solutions are used (for example, periodic strengthening of the soil with crushed stone). In the long run, such an approach turns out to be time-consuming, time-consuming and costly. At the same time, there is a need to use heavy construction equipment and carry out large earthworks.

When using GeoResin geopolymer resins, a one-time capital solution to the problem of soil strengthening is possible. Restoration of soil properties with the help of geopolymers is carried out quickly and efficiently, involving compact mobile installations that introduce multi-component geopolymers through small holes with a diameter of 8-16 mm.

Soil strengthening technology

To strengthen emergency areas of the coastline and restore destroyed coastal fortifications (for example, bulk stone dams) with the help of geopolymer resins, the Deep Lifting method is used. Injections of geopolymers are carried out at a depth of 1.5 m or more. At the same time, a series of several injections at different depths makes it possible to form a powerful waterproof screen directly in the soil layer.

Multi-component hepolymeric resins gain strength within 15 minutes after completion of injections and immediately create a waterproof barrier capable of withstanding a multi-ton load. The structure of geopolymers provides the fortification with waterproofing and waterproof properties and enables it to maintain a stable state for a long time in wet and water-saturated environments.

In order to strengthen the structure of the shore, it is possible to inject into the existing shoreline formed of stones and boulders. In this case, the geopolymer resin will gradually fill the space between the boulders, as a result of which a monolithic massif will be formed.

Features of geopolymers

Increased humidity does not affect the quality of GeoResin material hardening. In addition, geopolymer resins are a completely inert and environmentally safe material. Its use does not disturb the biological balance in reservoirs.
