For a logistics hub of this scale, the floor is more than just a surface, but a key infrastructure element. Any uneven settlement of the concrete slab turns the perfectly functioning automated systems and loading equipment into a risky and costly operation.

The owner of a logistics center faced a systemic problem: uneven floor settlement across the entire facility. This resulted in:

  • Malfunction of high-rack storage (deviation of racks from the vertical);
  • Increased wear of wheels and chassis of warehouse equipment;
  • Reduced cargo handling speed due to vibrations and level changes.

Technical Survey: The Treachery of Heterogeneous Soils

A technical inspection of an area of ​​almost 4,500 square meters confirmed that the root of the problem lies inheterogeneity of foundation soils.

  1. Zones with different load-bearing capacities were formed under the concrete slab.
  2. In areas of the weakest soil, the slab suffered damage due to voids forming beneath it. Without direct slab-to-soil contact, the concrete structure began to experience extreme bending stress, inevitably leading to failure.

Technical Solution: High-Precision Floor Lifting

Restoring the floor geometry on such a huge area, traditional methods (dismantling and re-pouring) would have meant shutting down business for several months and incurring colossal losses. The solutionGeoresin allowed the work to be carried out with “surgical” precision.

Methodology for performing work:

  • Injection of geopolymer composition was carried out to a depth0.5 mfrom the bottom edge of the slab. This made it possible to create a consolidated “cushion”—a geopolymer-reinforced soil mass—under the entire floor.
  • By expanding, the GeoResin material instantly filled all hidden cavities and voids, ensuring 100% load transfer from the slab to the ground.
  • Thanks to the controlled expansion of the composition, the subsided sections of the slab were smoothly returned to the design plane.

Result of the project implementation

As a result of comprehensive work in the logistics center:

  • 4495 sq.m of foundation stabilized. The soil under the slab became homogeneous and resistant to static and dynamic loads.
  • The floor slab is leveled and contact with the base is restored over the entire area.
  • GeoResin geopolymer does not shrink over time and is not affected by moisture, which eliminates the risk of repeated subsidence.
